Elder abuse refers to any intentional or unintentional behaviour pattern that results in psychological, financial, physical or social harm to a person aged over 65 years leading to poor health outcomes, including distress, morbidity and mortality. As we are a profession with a higher standard of care, it is important for solicitors to be across triggers that help us identify signs of elder abuse when dealing with older clients.
