Paul Bateman is a Melbourne writer, freelance journalist and communications professional. Paul is currently a Senior Policy Adviser, Creative Victoria (DEDJTR).
He has, for almost two decades, written for numerous newspapers, magazines, websites and specialist publications.
For four years, he presented a fortnightly segment on Melbourne people and Melbourne history for the 774 ABC Melbourne Breakfast program.
He was written extensively for The Age, where he has been published in almost every section of the newspaper, including the opinion pages and Good Weekend magazine. In the summer of 2000-01, he wrote a daily column for The Age on Melbourne history.
Paul is a former State Library of Victoria journalist (2006-2009) and former corporate communications advisor within the Victorian Department of Premier and Cabinet (2010-2014).
Paul has a Bachelor of Law degree and a Bachelor of Arts degree from Monash University, Clayton (1996).
