Ken practised as a solicitor from 1984 till 1995 and then as a barrister until retirement from legal practice altogether in June 2013. Since January 2010 he has lectured at Edith Cowan University, teaching Contract Law, Remedies and Legal Process though remained at the bar and maintained his membership of Francis Burt Chambers as a door tenant.
Whilst at the bar, he practised in commercial litigation, and took instructions mainly in contract, property and trade practices disputes, and also did quite a lot of work in general tort and succession.
He co authored with Anibeth Desierto, a textbook for LexisNexis Butterworths entitled: Legal Problem Solving and Syllogistic Analysis: A Guide for Foundation Law Students. It went to print on 29 September 2016
